Chapter 1 - Town of Gliver

Tale of 2 Tales 01-basic-medieval-town-concept

The Town of Gliver, is a blissful hamlet were nobles, adventurers and traders meet in its joyful streets. Men and woman of every race find in Gliver some kind of guilty pleasure, be it an beautiful dress, a well crafted weapon, or a seductive whore. Many adventurers seek Gliver due to its famous magical ale, the unique Medusa's Kiss. Others, of more noble bearing, search for profit in the various guilds around Gliver. But every rose has its thorns, and such urban peace and beauty cannot exist without a lot of shit occurring behind the curtain. Time never stops, and the cogs of destiny turn with each passing second.

What kind of adventurers now travel though the streets, and how will they change the destiny of Gliver and everyone that lives there?

Asmódeom sniffed the air as he walked down one of Gliver's main streets. People from all kinds roamed the streets, filling the air with conversations and laughs. Weakness. This whole town stenched of it. He tried to maintain his posture and focus on his mission.
His armour rattled as he tried to find the parchment describing his mission and target. A drawing of an young elf was carefully drawn below the inscription of " Conversion or Death".
"Ah, Conversion." thought Asmódeum. Fugitives, heretics. They all convert at first. Say everything to escape the excrutiating pain. But he knew. They were weak. And they need to be shown the true way.

While walking in the streets of Gliver, [Per(As)d10] Asmódeum is surrounded by any humanoids of ever race a ilk. It is hard to keep track of every face he comes by. When reaching for his purse store his target's information, Asmódeum is surprised by the fact that he cannot find it.

Annoyed that he couldn't find the parchment, Asmódeus continued to roam the streets until he found a tabern or inn. Places where most people congregated were great to find all kinds of information, such as taverns, inns or churches.
Asmódeus loved to visit churches and temples but he was not welcomed there. Anyone of the True Cross was not welcomed in worship places or even near them. Last time he visited one, he got into an heated with several priests about which god were the true one or the most powerful. He showed them the meaning of true Power as he painted the walls red with his mace. As much as he loved to crush such pathetic heretics, he had a target to pursue.
The True Power Pursuer arrived at a possible location to find more information about his target. An inn in a quiet street with a very captivating sign of a medusa blowing a kiss, resembling Gliver's most famous magical ale.
He stepped inside the inn trying to find anyone that could provide him with the information he wanted.

The inn was filled with many adventurers, most likely attracted to the iconic ale of Gliver. An single charming bard sings epic tales to all that listen. The eyes and hearts of males (and sometimes females too) steady pin the large bosom of the bartender while she serves them. As Asmódeum passes trough the doors, the mood changes. Every other patron tries to avoid eye contact, and the bard stops singing briefly. As he takes his seat, the mood lighten, and Molly's Tavern resumes to normal. Still, the bartender wouldn't come close to take his order.

The though of losing something still wondered his mind, especially as he tries to find some information on his target (-1 Wll). What was he doing in a tavern anyway? His money was in his lost purse.

Time flew by Asmódeum as he drowns his sorrows with a mug of magically gasified ale. The customers of the tavern, including the innkeeper, were too much afraid of an True Cross agent to give any information away. Still, courage and alcohol have an linear growth tendency, an some of the patrons had already too much courage in this frigid night. At the balcony, where Asmódeum was quietly sited, 3 patrons, filled with liquid courage, approached the Pursuer: "They fella... You seems to be a little lost..." The middle one was heavily bodybuilt half-orc, while his 2 companions seems normal humans. The hand of the halfbreed reaches Asmódeum left shoulder. "We don't like y'our kind, so you b'etter leave now...."

As the hand of the half-orc touched his shoulder, Asmódeum snapped. Who were these peasants to touch him? Who dared to? "Think that a bit of liquid courage on a cold night would give you any strenght?" thought Asmódeum to himself.
Fueled by his anger of not finding any information about the fugitive, he reached for both Truth and Power and shouted "You scum! I'll teach you a lesson!" as both of his maces hit the head of the halfbbreed on each side.

Asmódeum's shout grabs the attention of all the patrons in the room, overpowering even the bard's song. [HC(As-Truth)Dex+7d16](+2 Skill bonus; +2 initiative bonus; +5 proximity bonus; -2 anger bonus;) [HC(As-Power)Dex+7d7](+2 Skill bonus; +2 initiative bonus; +5 proximity bonus; -2 anger bonus;) He grabs his weapons and aims for the half-orc's teeth. [DC(Half-Orc)-7d4](-5 proximity bonus; -2 initiative bonus) Truth flies over his head, missing the target entirely. Unable to dodge, the Orcish patron receives Power's blow right in the left side of the head, splitting some of the orc's blood but not enough to knock him down. Due to his orcish heritage, he is clearly resistant to physical punishment. The tavern goes silent for a brief moment, as the Half-breed focus on Asmódeum: "You a're done for o'ld man." Ready to attack, the triplet prepares to strike Asmódeum with their bare hands.
