This update will create some limitations on the character creation to balance the gaming experience of players. New mechanics to story writing will be added to remove subjectivity in the game damage, combat and between stories. A map will be added to stories to improve the compression by players of the environment. Also includes a new profile résumé sheet for easier story telling. Pre-patch heroes will be able to update their character sheets to accommodate the new patch.

Added Limitations:

Natural Skills updates:

+ Every character is limited to 5 natural skills;
+ Natural skills that increase STATS are limited to increments of +3 individually, and +5 in the total.
+ Natural Skills can not directly change sub-stats.

Techniques and Spells updates:
+ Special Tech and Spells that buff one or more stats will follow the same calc that Dmg for each respective skill for power. The duration will be 4 times the stats points consumed. In case of buff for more that one stat, the sum of the buffed stat must be equal to Power. In the case of fractioned division the excess will be lost.
+ Techniques and Spells can not directly change sub-stats.  

Backpack updates:

+ Each character starts only with 3 equipment "slots".
+ Equipment gained in stories (either temporary or reward) shall be marked with "@" at the beginning.
+ Story rewards and items do not count towards the equip slots limit.
+ Ammunition for weapons or consumables and gold don't count towards the equip slots limit and should be marked with "@".
+ Equipment that increase STATS will be considered RARE and are not allowed as starting equipment.
+ Equipment can not directly change sub-stats.

New Story Telling Mechanics and Sub-stats
Physical and Magical Prowess (PP and MP): This two “hidden” sub-stats will give the natural skill of a character to execute spells and techniques. This will be used to calc the POWER of a spell or tech without charging.
Physical Prowess (PP) = Con/7 + Wll/15

Magical Prowess (MP) = Con/10 + Wll/8
 
Power/Damage Calculation:
Technique / Attack Pwr = Con/4*(PP) + Dex/8*(PP)
Special / Energy Technique Pwr = (Con/4)*(PP + MP)

Spell Pwr = (Int/4)*(MP  + PP/2)
 
Charging:  This new mechanic will be used for creating more powerful attacks with Con or Wll. Besides the Pwr from the character Prowess factors, players can sacrifice Con or Wll to increase his PP or MP, respectively. Con/Wll lost in this manner will regenerate in time. Additionally, might wish to charge a tech/spell over one or more verses. In this case, the PP or MP used for Pwr calc will be multiplied by the verses used to charge.
 
Regeneration: Con and Wll will regenerate at the end of the verses, after the previous action resolution. Regeneration points will be rewarded every 2 verses. The regeneration formulas will be:
Con regen = Con/8
Wll regen = Con/10 + Wll/10
 
Hit and Dodge Chances: Each character will have a Hit/Dodge chance determined by his Dex. During Hit or Dodge calc, Dex values might change depending with the distance between the target and the attacker. This means that ranged attacks will be harder to hit and easier to dodge.
Hit Chance (%)= Dex*5

Dodge Chance (%) = Dex*5
 
Resistance: Resistance will reduce all the damage that a character receives, inclusive elemental. If the power is lower than resistance, the attack will not cause damage. When the Pwr of a attack is higher (before reduction) than double of the defender's Resistance, the attack has enough power to knock down the defender. Resistance will be calc. based on that character Con as:
Resistance = |Con/3|

Important: During the various calcs is seen the Stat/x parameter. This is not a direct division but it means that the sub-stat will increase by 1 for each x points in the specific stat. (e.g. Resistance = 8 Con/3 = 2; not Resistance = 8 Con/3 = 2.67. In another example: Wll regen = |Con 15/10| + |Wll 5/10|= 1; not Wll regen = |Con 15/10| + |Wll 5/10|= 2)
 
Perks Change:
The next Perks will be changed to fit the new mechanics:
 
Constitution Perks
Scaled Skin (20) - Double Resistance.
Dexterity Perks
Perfectionist (20) - Dodge Chance of the opponent is ignored if Defending Per is lower than Attacker Dex.
Uncanny Dodge (15) – Double the power from Dex to techniques and attacks.
Will Perks
Determined (20) - When losing Wll, even to Tech and Spells Dmg, two points will be instantly refunded.
Intellect Perks
Lore (20) – Double the power of spells
Perception Perks
Eagle Vision (15) - Ranged attacks Hit Chance won't be negatively influenced by distance and environmental factors.

 
Reference Map
Due to the difficulty in Teller/Player communication, especially during combat, a simple map will be added to help players and teller to explain their intent.  Players might use the map to help explain the teller were they want to move or other actions. The map should always point the North to the top. There is an example:

Profile résumé update
New, smaller and simpler Résumé for characters. Removed information could be easily viewed through the link beside character name. Starting skills, techniques and spells now need to be checked at the character profile. Story Skills are skills, techniques or spells acquired through the current story, temporary or not. Buffs/Debuffs section are to keep track of the temporary stats changes trough the adventure. These 2 sections replace the temporary skills on the old version.

All starter equipment should still be described. Acquired and/or temporary items should have "@" before the item name.
